LOCATIONCasa Playadise is located on 26th street, between 20th and 25th avenues in the popular-with-local-expatriates neighborhood Paraiso del Carmen. Just six blocks from the beach and three blocks from 5th avenue, this home offers a lot of value for your vacation dollar.
DESCRIPTION Away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist strip, but still near all the action, Casa Playadise is an adorable, two-level casita that has been decorated with loving care. The owners stay here for half the year themselves, and so have outfitted Casa Playadise with all of the comforts of home. Its traditional Mexican furnishings, original folk art, and cheerful color
scheme reflect local flavor and give a homey, comfortable feeling. The backyard patio is a great spot to relax or read a book, and the charcoal grill comes in handy for backyard barbecues.
Nearby, you'll be delighted to find lots of local shops and restaurants, two supermarkets, discount pharmacies, the wonderful produce market/specialty store called DAC, and phone/internet shops.
Entering Casa Playadise, you will find yourself in the dining room, which features a rustic Mexican pine/glass table for four. In one corner, there is a desk, perfect for writing out your vacation postcards. There is an air-conditioning unit in the dining room that is powerful enough to cool the whole first floor. Pass through the dining room, and to the right you will find the small, but fully-equipped kitchen. The living room, with its full-sized comfortable futon (which can sleep 2 people) and three chairs, offers plenty of seating for guests. Off the living room, you'll find the recently-added half-bath, which also boasts a washer/dryer unit, a real convenience for washing your beach towels. Sliding glass doors in the living room lead to the enclosed open-air terrace, where patio furniture and a BBQ grill make for a nice outdoor living space.
Both bedrooms in this home are located upstairs; a perfect arrangement for those guests who have differing schedules. One person can go to bed early and not be disturbed by anyone watching TV downstairs. Both bedrooms have queen-sized orthopedic beds, hypo-allergenic pillows, and high thread count sheets. These beds are definitely not your run-of-the-mill, rock-hard standard hotel beds! Both bedrooms also have air-conditioning units, which you'll appreciate after spending a long day in the hot sun. The newly-renovated full bathroom with walk-in shower completes the top floor.
